  • The perfect Dordogne getaway, this charming renovated cottage near the beautiful medieval town of Monpazier is ideal for an individual or couple looking to embrace the tranquil charms of this celebrated region. The delightful garden looks out upon the rolling hills which surround this property on all sides, while an al fresco dining area, Weber charcoal barbecue and sun loungers ensure that relaxation is ensured. Upon entering the cottage from the garden, guests will be met by the sitting room with open kitchen area which are located on the upper ground level of this property. The deep-set windows on all sides of the sitting room which offer much natural light, add to the character of the cottage with its vaulted ceiling, large fireplace, stone walls and exposed beams. There is a comfortable sofa, round dining table and flatscreen TV with English satellite channels. The en suite bedroom on the lower ground floor has a king size bed, happily home to stylish yet minimalist décor and a preference for neutrals. The cottage has been awarded four stars by the French Ministry of Tourism, been included in The Times' 50 Best French Holiday List and has been reviewed by the Daily Telegraph with nine out of 10. For larger groups of up to 12 people, this cottage can be booked alongside its neighbour, property 1494. In July and August the two properties are rented out together.
